Ever since Kelly Carter has joined our TEAM in Diabetes Education, she has taken us by storm. She started off as a manager in Diabetes Education and soon after became our Director. Wasting no time at all, she planned to re-shape and re-define our department to create a more organized, efficient and welcoming department for our patients and staff. She coordinated with the department TEAM quickly and gained their cooperation to follow through. I have yet to see a director, in such a short time, set goals, organize and follow through with tasks with the cooperation of her TEAM, as she has.
One of her goals was to create a flourishing garden that would be organized and safe for our patients to go in and enjoy. Our TDI garden has had a complete facelift. Patients and staff are talking about how much they enjoy the renewed area, more so, they are enjoying the harvest. They are learning first-hand the importance of vital nutrients and nourishments a garden can provide. She organized a collaboration with the Food Bank to contribute in the process. Our TEAM is very proud of the results and our patients and visitors will be enjoying this for years to come. Our department staff uses these fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables in their cooking classes in Diabetes and Health Education. The Garden just touches the surface of all Kelly Carter has been working on to accomplish. There is much more in the making.
Kelly motivates our TEAM to learn more and further their education and the TEAM is doing so. We are proud to have Kelly Carter as our director and we can't wait to see how far she will be taking us with her exceptional Leadership.
Kelly Carter knows only one speed and that is Over the Limit!
