Early this year, my husband had a heart attack in church during service. CPR and AED were used to bring him back by the paramedic. He was transported to the hospital into the ER and then to the ICU. I was terrified and in shock. I tried to process all the things that were happening. In ICU Keionda was so calm, re-assuring and guided me through this very challenging time. She even wrote on my husband's board, plan for the day: increase strength and go home. This was the first sign of hope I received and then many followed. She brought me a blanket and pillow and kept an eye on us throughout the night. I felt secure in knowing that she was taking care of my husband. She worked as a team member so well. I was amazed to hear she was new. Her empathy and compassion made it possible for me to keep a positive attitude and keep going. My husband went home and without any problems. Thank you to Keionda and the great ICU team for this second chance.
