Our family member had a surgical procedure and Kai went beyond the call of dedication by working past closing time to be sure our family member was treated; without rushing, with respect and dignity.

Kai was patient, caring, and attentive to our last minute needs including looking up information for transport on Google for our benefit. She showed no signs of being weary, even at the end of a no doubt stressful day. She was cheery and was encouraging and compassionate to our 80 year old sister as she prepared her for travel. She contacted the convalescent facility where our family member was returning with final instructions on her follow- up care.

She created calm for us in the midst of confusion and stress. She is to be commended and recognized for her professionalism. As Jean Watson is quoted as saying, "Caring is the essence of nursing." Thank you!

From ASC Nursing Director:

Kai came to GAMC in 2012 as the Bariatric Nurse Manager. She didn't let the closing of the program slow down her commitment to the organization. She became a RN First Assist, helping out the ASC and the Main OR to better serve our surgeons. She not only serves in her role as a nurse in the ASC, but also as a Nurse Practitioner in our Occupational Medicine and Rapid Care Centers.

Her smile is quick upon her face for all that come into contact with her, which allows patients to feel at ease right away. Kai is always looking for ways to expand the care she provides for both patients and employees, ensuring that best practices are followed. Her desire to provide excellence in everything she does shines through in her nursing care with every patient encounter!
