For two days, in September of 2014, J was in the ICU under the care of the excellent MVH staff. In particular, we wanted to commend the care J and we, her family, received from her day nurse, Katie Fallon.

Katie exhibited not only careful and excellent care of J, but also compassion toward J's husband and us, J's son and daughter-in-law. We were extremely blessed and comforted by Katie's knowledge and desire to help us understand and walk through the process of J's passing from this life to the next. When caring for a particular need for J, Katie always addressed her in a respectful and caring tone (even though J was is a coma), explaining what she was doing and maintaining her dignity. She took the time to explain to us what was happening and to answer our questions about specific things with patience and loving kindness. Katie gave us needed time and space to minister to J in the ways God enabled us to minister. She understood our love for wife and mom and our grief.

Everyone in the ER and ICU who contributed to J's care were respectful and compassionate as they fulfilled their respective duties. When J was admitted to the ICU, we understood that her brain trauma would lead to her death. Thanks to Dr. P and her staff's compassion for a clear explanation. The process was made much easier by the MVH ICU staff. They exhibited the best of the medical profession.

Please know that we appreciate and thank God for the many people who were involved in J's care during our short stay at MVH. We wanted you to know that for our family, Katie's presence and excellent, compassionate care were a special blessing from God in our time of grief and sorrow.
