My mom was anxious after surgery and very sick. She was experiencing moderate to severe pain from chronic conditions, and nights seemed especially bad. She is hard of hearing, even with hearing aides, which adds to problems in communication.

She complained about a sore throat. Kathy Taylor listened, heard her wheezing, and got her oxygen with humidification that helped both. She was kind, compassionate, unbelievably patient, and made my mom and me feel that she and her needs were of paramount importance - even the small things.

Kathy is an effective communicator - explaining things in a professional but understandable manner. She listened to my concern about a medication that was ordered for my mom. Kathy asked my mom's attending hospitalist about this right away.

She is a jewel; upbeat, friendly and professional, and gives patient-centered care that sets her above the rest.

...

Kathy is an excellent charge nurse. She is very fair with her assignments and always stands beside us when we need help with difficult patients. Kathy is very organized and often works with a LPN. She has patients and does charge on a busy surgical post-op floor.

Her dedication and good attitude keeps all nurses around her and working with her in a good mood.

Thank you Kathy, for all you do. You make our unit a great place to work.
