My daughter was admitted to CHOP for her 3rd open heart surgery. I have seen many wonderful nurses over the last 3 years, but I feel Katherine Cornwell really exceeded every expectation. Katie took the time to explain everything to us with my daughter's recovery and answered any questions my husband and I asked. She was honest and straightforward, but extremely caring and compassionate. She truly is an exceptional nurse.
Katie pushed when we needed it, especially with getting my daughter up and moving. When she took her first steps post-op, Katie's eyes filled with tears. My daughter also took a liking to her over the 3 days. When it came time for her last shift, I cried. She is also an ear to listen, to reassure that all my worries were normal. She is a true asset to CHOP and I am grateful that we met her.
