A gentleman collapsed in Walmart recently. Kaitlyn responded to the crowd standing around him. She quickly asked if he had a pulse and proceeded to check for one. She started CPR and asked for an AED. No one knew what that was, so she continued CPR (for 15 minutes) until the ambulance arrived. They together placed the AED and the patient was shocked. From what I have been told the patient survived.
In following up with leadership, I am told that Kaitlyn has responded to two hospital events as well in this capacity. Kaitlyn indicated the RQI technology played a huge role in the confidence she had. Thank you, Kaitlyn, for your response to all the patients and for competing for the RQI competency as designed. Your efforts are recognized and truly appreciated!
