I lost my baby boy. The first night he was not inside me was the worst day of my life and it plays over and over and over again. Kaitlin Terry went above and beyond; she stayed with me, checked on me every half hour, and gave me hugs I truly needed from my family that day. Words are so hard to express the companionship she made me feel at the loneliest time in my life. Every time she saw me she'd say a couple words to help boost my spirits and smile.
At the end of her shift, Kaitlin came over and told me I would get through this, I am strong, gave me great big hugs and said God bless. The next day the very same thing, she made sure I at least took a bite of something. If I wasn't up to eating and that I'd take a few sips of tea if I wasn't drinking. She'd tell me "today you are walking so much better, doing so much better." I'd tell her I wasn't.
At the end of her shift this night she came over and gave me a hug and said, "I'll be gone for 7 days and don't expect to see you when I get back". She said to remember my son needs me, too. I have been in and out of hospitals for many things but this nurse that I spent two days with was like God sent me an angel from above to help me out, and I wished on the 3rd day she was around too because I sure could have used a nice smile or some words of comfort. Kaitlin deserves more than one DAISY Award!
