I recently had to have an emergency induction due to a medical issue. I was scared and had never had an induction before, even though I was having my third child. Julie was my nurse upon admission and again the next day. She was always taking the time to explain what was going on, what to expect and why it was important to do certain things. I have a trauma history and she really made sure she was respectful of that when doing any hands on assessments and when I needed to have a male present in the room. She spent a lot of time making sure I was turning and doing what needed to be done to dilate. She had me try different techniques that I've never had done in any other labor situation and I thought it was incredibly helpful. Doctors had expected me to labor for days due to how early I was, but I believe her interventions helped speed that along. She was a constant source of support for questions and when I was freaking out. We also had a student that day and she did a wonderful job teaching her, very patient and thorough. I had a wonderful experience with her and find her to be an exceptional nurse.
