Our Campus is proud to announce Julie Munder, RN, nursing intern in the Roger and Debbie Clemens Pediatric Wing, as recipient of the DAISY Award, which recognizes one nurse each month for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional patient care. The designation, presented in collaboration with The American Organization of Nurse Executives, is part of the DAISY Foundation’s national program to recognize nurses who serve as role models to colleagues throughout the profession.
“I started my career on this Campus a few months ago and I feel so special to already be recognized for my dedication and work ethic,” said Munder. “This is my passion and I’m lucky to be part of such a wonderful organization that continually highlights the nursing profession with honors like the DAISY Award.”
In the little time she’s been here, Julie has already gained the respect and confidence of her colleagues on the unit who nominated her for this award. “Julie is a fantastic caregiver who does everything possible for her patients,” said her colleague.
“She most recently found an organization to financially assist one of her patients who couldn’t afford a prom dress. The patient had recently suffered an injury that left her physically disabled and selfconscious of her appearance. Julie not only helped her pick out the ‘perfect’ dress – but found a way to restore that patient’s self-esteem, self-worth and self-love.”
