Juli was nominated by the wife of a patient being evaluated for prostate cancer, who was impressed by Juli’s professionalism. She later reached out to Juli when her mother was also facing challenges of cancer. She recognized that this was outside of Juli’s usual scope of practice, but had such confidence and so valued her opinion that she asked for her help. Juli took up the challenge to assist finding an oncologist who was “the right fit” for this individual’s mother. She sought Juli out on a day when her mother was receiving treatment in the Ambulatory Infusion Center and was struck by Juli’s commitment to her work when she took the time to stop by to visit her mother during their stay. The nomination noted that Juli is a nurse who exceeds expectations by showing tremendous kindness, empathy, knowledge, and always maintains a positive attitude.
