I am a patient in the Senior Clinic at Anschutz. I might add that I am a big fan of the University of Colorado medical services and see specialists throughout the system. When I have the time I also volunteer to some projects, so, you can see that I come into contact with multiple employees and staff people and they are almost 100% impressive, personable and helpful. I see why your campus receives so many awards. However, even among other outstanding employees, Joy Mulder, RN, is exceptional.
Before retiring, I owned a Public Relations company in Phoenix, AZ. I understand the importance of good customer service. I also understand the public, in general, is quick to complain but slow to offer praise. When I am truly impressed with someone I try to say so, and that is why I write to you about Joy. What a delightful person she is! How did her parents know when naming her that she would indeed be a "Joy" in every respect!
Sometimes the "system" gets a little complex for we senior citizens. We find our doctor has a day off and yet we must schedule some tests or need other assistance. If we are fortunate enough to speak to Joy, everything falls into place quickly and efficiently. She seems to remember everyone who comes to Seniors Clinic and always has a warm word, even when she is obviously busy. If a patient needs to check on medications, cold cures, or just to say hello, we find that Joy's door is always open to us. If she is on the phone, she still takes time for a smile and a wave.
I am sure you are well aware of Joy Mulder's skills as a nurse and as a person, but I wanted you to know that her knowledge and personality single her out from her peers, even from all the other skilled nurses in the Senior Clinic.
