Jordan is a skilled and compassionate RN who provides excellent critical care to all her patients. Jordan has shown a unique ability to connect with each patient and their family.

During one complicated and challenging patient assignment, Jordan went above and beyond to meet the needs of her patient's family. That morning, Jordan's patient passed away. The family approached Jordan to express they were concerned for the safety of the patient's son. They explained that the patient's son struggles with substance abuse and mental health problems and could be potentially suicidal. He had been committed to the hospital for evaluation just a week prior. They felt he needed to be evaluated again, but were unsure how to go about the process.

Jordan collaborated with nursing leadership, security and care coordination to work with the family. After a long conversation, staff were able to voluntarily take the son down to the Emergency Department for evaluation. Jordan's actions and commitment to meeting the needs of the family allowed this outcome to be safe and peaceful for all involved. When we were saying goodbye the patient's husband looked Jordan in the eye, shook her hand, and said, "I will never forget you".
