John is frequently complimented by his patients. Recently when rounding on patients two patients gave examples about how John really went above and beyond for them. One patient said that he had been NPO for two days in a row and had really been craving Kentucky Fried Chicken. When the patient returned from his procedure, John had fried chicken and mashed potatoes waiting for him. The patient was touched that John had remembered what he had wanted from the day before and had gone through the effort to make it happen when he could eat again.

Another patient had been struggling with an itching back. John had gone and gotten a back scratcher from IKEA from his locker and given it to the patient. The patient said that he offered to reimburse John for the backscratcher but that John said that it was his gift to him.

John can also be counted on to help his coworkers. On a recent shift he knew that a nurse was tied up with a hemophiliac patient. Two of the nurse's patients needed to be medicated for pain. Even though he himself was busy, he went and medicated both patients. John views all of the patients on 5E as "his patients", and is frequently seen responding to call lights outside of his assignment. He is a fantastic example of a team player who is committed to assuring that every patient on 5E has an excellent patient experience.
