The patient's family wrote to Joel:

Our family truly believes that your friendship and compassion for your patients and thus families, your personal touch, your ability to focus and give you patients that special one to one attention, and loving care for the complete well-being is a gift from God.

Joel says he became a nurse because he always has had a passion to help others and make a difference in peoples lives. He loves to see people smile with the little things in life that could make a huge difference in theirs. Joel expresses his views on his own nursing career by stating, "With the Doors that God has opened for me I have been blessed to walk through them."
