Joaquin is a remarkable registered nurse, and the hospital is very fortunate to have him on staff. He went above and beyond in caring for my father. Joaquin was assigned to my father multiple times during his hospital stay. I welcomed the days Joaquin was my dad's nurse because of his competence and his willingness to "go the extra step." My dad received patient, understanding, and prompt care under Joaquin's supervision. Joaquin was never flustered by my father's multiple medical needs or his physical size. He always approached my dad with the utmost respect and professionalism. Not once did Joaquin dismiss my dad's feelings. He listened with a professional yet compassionate ear. Joaquin made himself available to help the Physical Therapy staff with my dad. Those PT sessions were always more successful than the sessions without Joaquin. He was able to motivate my dad and lend the additional strength my dad needed. He also showed me and my entire family kindness asking on more than one occasion how we were fairing through my dad's health crisis. And, Joaquin took the time to answer my questions patiently and completely. All requests were met with a positive response. My father returned to his home from a skilled nursing facility and he has been home for just over one month now and continues to improve. Dad is walking with the aid of a walker and has returned to most of his daily activities prior to his hospitalization. In another month or so, I believe my dad will be able to drive and take care of his errands independently. Thank you, Joaquin, for greatly contributing to this positive outcome.
