We received a patient with complex needs, both psychologically as well as socially and she was also a high risk to fall. She had an extended stay on our unit, related to family dynamics and placement issues. Jillian was so kind and compassionate with every interaction with this patient. She actively listened to her long stories and daily updates. She brought her special coffee every morning to start the day off on the right foot. The patient had early onset dementia, and Jillian was able to establish such a caring relationship with her that the patient remembered her every day and would frequently share stories about their "friendship" to anyone who took time to listen. On her day of discharge, her family was unable to come in. Jillian volunteered to accompany her to the nursing home to assist with the transition. If it wasn't for Jillian, this patient would have been very upset that day due to the huge change. Thank you, Jillian, for all you do!
