Jessy Easaw, RN came to SCI(Spinal Cord Injury) in October, 2012 as the Case Manager. While she has done a tremendous job in the role of case manager, she has done so much more than that. Whenever the SCI unit needs something done, Jessy just seems to appear and know what to do. Here are a few examples:

When the educator resigned, there was Jessy gathering the information needed to continue the learning needs for the staff.

When we were in the middle of a code blue, there was Jessy out of nowhere, bagging the patient's tracheotomy.

When she comes in every morning, she checks all of the respiratory compromised patients before she starts her day. She visits with the families because they trust her. She is dedicated to the Veteran's care and progress.

She even comes in on weekends to make sure the weekend staff received the exact same in-service and training as all others.

When our unit had 5 Vent patients at once, Jessy relied on her 20 years of Respiratory experience to set up in-services with the company providing the Cough Assist machines and then she ensured that all staff received hands-on-training.

I've never seen a Case Manager act like this. By being here for the Veterans the way she does every day, she is inspirational to others without even knowing it.
