When my husband was diagnosed with terminal bowel Cancer in September 2017, our lives were turned upside down and the roller coaster began.
He was given the chance to buy up to 3 more years with chemo. He grabbed this with both hands.
Jess was the first nurse who gave him his chemo back in October 2017. She was so calm and lovely and reassured us so much. I can't find the words to describe that. I've had so many questions and worries over the last six months. In my eyes, Jess always went the extra mile. If she didn't know or wasn't sure (if she remembers me it will make her smile, because some of my questions looking back ranged from the obvious to consultant level) she always went out of her way to find the answer for me/us.
When I was worried I was taking up too much of her time she always answered, "no, don't worry at all it's no trouble. It has helped me too! I'll know the answer when someone else asks that question.''
Now, when I get stressed I often think about how Jess would respond in her calm caring friendly professional way this helps me a lot! She will have no way of knowing this! Jess is a true DAISY Nurse.
