Jessica is a guardian angel who made me feel comfortable and hopeful about my condition. She was always there to help me understand my condition and the treatments I was receiving. She came in often to ask me if she could assist me in any way.-LM, patient

I have been blessed with some very nice and caring people taking care of me during my stay at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler. Nurse Jessica gave me my medication in a timely manner and was very thorough in her explanation of how each medication worked to help me get better. She was superb in her courtesy and everything she did for me - from putting on my heart monitor, to helping me with my breathing treatment, to connecting my IV for antibiotics. Overall, I must say the treatment and the personnel are simply marvelous in their demeanor and level of genuine caring.

I am reminded of a saying "Friends are like angels - you don't have to see them to know they are there". This was all brought to mind with the guardian angels sent to me today in the form of my nurses who are "God's ministering spirits" to me while at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler. I offer these few rambling words as a tribute to Jessi for her service. May God bless and keep you all! CH, patient

Jessica is one of the most amazing, compassionate, caring, and attentive nurses I have ever had care for me. She absolutely deserves this DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses. Jessi not only cared for my physical needs, she was also there for me emotionally and spiritually.-TS, patient .

...

I am a Registered Nurse at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler and was honored to receive the DAISY Award in the past. However, the true honor has been the ability to work alongside Jessi Rogers, because she is an outstanding nurse.

One example of the care Jessi provides happened recently when we had a psychiatric patient admitted to our short stay/observation medical unit. This patient needed special attention and care due to her psychiatric and medical conditions creating complex and challenging care requirements. Even though Jessica was not the nurse assigned to care for the patient, she went out of her way to ensure the patient was always supervised and always safe. She did this with so much compassion. She made the patient feel comfortable in the unfamiliar and sometimes frightening surroundings of the hospital unit. I observed how Jessi interacted and communicated with this patient, modeling behaviors that were appropriate and specific to the patients needs. Jessi's skill and compassion helped an agitated and uncooperative patient become comfortable and cooperative with her care.

Not only does Jessi continually show her compassion to every patient, she is also an utter joy to work with. She is always offering her expertise and role modeling professionalism to other nurses. She strives and succeeds in making our unit at Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler a better place. She places the needs of our patients and her coworkers ahead of her own when she offers to work shifts to help other nurses. She is a positive light on our floor. EG, coworker.
