I flew in from NC for my father's kidney surgery and ended up staying in his room for a week because he developed ileus. Jenny was compassionate in her care for my father and was extremely thoughtful in anticipating my needs while staying with him. I did not understand a lot of what was happening which was distressing, but she was always able to answer our questions with confidence and thoughtful explanation. Jenny has a cheerful positive nature combined with compassion and intelligence which makes her an exceptional caregiver. She made sure we always understood what was happening whether it be changes in medicines or procedures and stopped by the room often even if we didn't call for a nurse or have immediate needs to make sure we knew she was there for us. She did this in such a positive manner that her care significantly reduced our anxiety and I know helped speed up his recovery and maintained my well-being as well.

The day brightens for all when Jenny arrives for her shift. Her bright, positive, cheerful, caring attitude refreshes all who come in contact with her. I have seen her thoroughly and patiently explain procedures to a student nurse in a very encouraging and motivating way. Returning from a day off, she said she had been thinking about me yesterday and hoping I was getting better. When questioned she said she always thought that way about all her patients! She appears to have an extremely good handle on this i.e. caring deeply without taking on so much care as to be emotionally disabling. For someone only three years on the job, Jenny seems immensely competent and knowledgeable. On the other hand, on two occasions when she needed help or additional knowledge, she didn't hesitate to call on one of her more knowledgeable contemporaries for advice.
