Jennifer saved my life! All throughout the fall I was in and out of my physician's office not feeling well, having extreme fatigue and weakness. In December, my cardiologist did some test and it suggested that I might need a cardiac catheterization due to possible coronary artery disease, but the procedure was never scheduled. Having angioplasty in 1996, I was concerned that this was not scheduled immediately, and this also made my wife nervous and upset.
The next day when I was at work, Jennifer Haney noticed that I did not look well. She inquired how I was feeling and I explained to her what I had been going through over the last several months. Wow, God had just sent me an angel who went right into action. She arranged an appointment with an amazing young Interventional Cardiologist and within hours I was scheduled for a heart cath. During my cardiac cath, Jennifer was there to support me and my wife. Jennifer and the team were professional, caring and compassionate. Her confidence in the team gave me an amazing peace that I was in the right hands. She also went out to the waiting room to update my wife and made sure that she was comfortable. When the doctor came to the recovery area to talk to me and my wife, the news was not favorable. I had three-vessel coronary artery disease and I needed open heart surgery immediately. I was transferred to WellStar Kennestone Hospital where another amazing team did triple bypass surgery. While I was at Kennestone, Jennifer called my wife twice to check on my condition and offered the same professional caring and compassionate care to my wife.
After I was discharged and went to see my Interventional Cardiologist in his office, guess who was there waiting to see me? None other than my life-saving Angel, Jennifer! Writing this is very emotional for me and wife because we both feel that I would not be alive today if Jennifer had not taken the time to inquire about how I was feeling. I will be returning to work soon, 7 weeks after open heart surgery. Thank you for allowing me to honor a very special nurse and deserving nurse, Jennifer Haney.
