When we got to have Jemal as Mom's nurse, I was immediately comforted. You see, three years ago when my father had a fall and it resulted in a subdural hematoma and Jemal was my father's nurse. At that time, it was recommended that we let Daddy go. Needless to say, it was a very long and difficult night. Jemal was ever-present and always comforting and helpful. He was an amazing help during a dreadful time. It was clearly something about his compassionate, calm, caring demeanor that imprinted him in my memories. It was again, a wonderful relief and comfort to see that my precious mother would be under his care during this post-surgical stay. I don't know how he manages to seem ever-present when he has to take care of so many patients, but he simply radiates a willingness to be at a patient's beck and call. Nursing is surely a stressful job, one can feel very thinly stretched. Jemal is always smiling, always upbeat, always ready with an answer or to get what you need. I've had the time to see many nurses this past week and Jemal is one in a million!
