I am writing in regards to Jeanne Murata, the charge nurse of thehemapheresisunit, with the highest recommendation possible for the DAISY Award. I have been fortunate to work together with Jeanne over the past twelve years on both the inpatient hematology consult service and in the outpatienthemapheresisunit, providing care to patients needing therapeutic plasma exchange and patients undergoing stem cell collections.
Jeanne has repeatedly gone above and beyond the call of duty, providing the highest level of care and compassion to patients and their families. Her dedication to her professional calling is inspiring. She is not only our most skilled nurse, commanding an extremely impressive knowledge base and technical skills, but also our most dependable, often volunteering without hesitation to stay after hours to ensure that each patient receives the best treatment possible. Jeanne has a positive attitude at all times, even on solving complex situations and encountering challenges that are new and conducts herself with the highest level of professionalism towards her colleagues and team members.
In our unit, Jeanne is regarded as a miracle worker, and it is a common occurrence for patients and nurses and medical doctors to come to her with an unsolvable problem and she is able to solve it with skill, determination, andgrace. Furthermore, she serves as a resource nationally to otherhemapheresisunits and generously provides guidance and support with her extensive knowledge and experience. She is humble, compassionate, devoted, and personifies all of the qualities for which the DAISY Award was created. She has my enthusiastic support.
