Jason has been in his role for a relatively short time but he has really stirred up a transformation on the unit. He has been a true blessing. Employee morale has been on the upswing ever since he took over. Employees are more engaged and volunteer more to do the little extras that are not mandatory but needed. Jason gives off an energy or a vibe that has spread through the unit making the staff want to go above and beyond the call of duty. He has created excitement and enthusiasm among the staff and it shows. His encouraging and kind words help to motivate the team to work better and smarter. Staff is involved in house-wide projects, off-site gatherings, clinical initiatives, and orientation and mentoring of new staff. The change is palpable. Jason is a person who speaks up, touts their successes and acknowledges opportunities to improve. In addition, he has developed strong working relationships with the entire interprofessional team.
It is amazing to know that you work for someone who takes a personal interest in the staff. This naturally promotes unity. It's an "us" instead of "you" feeling. If Jason sees you are struggling, he will stop and ask what he can do to make the situation better. One more of his awesome qualities is that of listening. Patients, visitors, and employees all vent, cry, and complain at all hours of the day and he graciously listens with no hesitation.
Jason has encouraged us ALL to get involved, has made us excited to participate in all the activities and drives us to do better as individuals and as a team. He has shown us what it is to have/be an amazing leader - to remain compliant with standards but also flexible to allow for individual needs.
Jason comes to work daily with a smile on his face and that alone makes me try harder to be the best I can be. He is the type of leader I one day hope to become. Jason is an inspiration to all!
