Jason took phenomenal care of our father during our 22 day stay here after a horrible car accident that killed our mother. We are forever grateful that we found him on our rotation. He truly cares equally for both his patients and his patients' families. From the minutes we met him he was offering condolences and hugs along with advice on our own well-being in addition to our dad's.
When one of us needed an ultrasound 130 miles from home, he talked to the maternity department and helped facilitate one right here in the hospital. He was also a wonderful source of moral support, sitting down to a heart-to-heart with each of us, and listening when we were stressed and needed to talk. When we were dissatisfied with the care our dad received early on, Jason took initiative hand-picked some of the very best nurses to care for him. When one of dad's medications was overwhelming him with delirium and hallucinations, Jason helped find a balance that brought him back to normalcy. Jason advocated for our dad's best interests each step along the way, and he encouraged us, as the family to do the same. Finally, our dad was confined to the SICU while we desperately wanted to give him the opportunity to have a final goodbye with our mother. Jason helped organize a very wonderful, albeit unorthodox memorial service with a viewing of our mother in our father's room. Afterward, he even played bouncer while a large number of friends and family dropped in to offer condolences. We truly wish we never found ourselves here in this situation, but since we did, Jason has been our hero and our rock these past few weeks and he truly made us feel like family here.
