Helpful, courteous, good sense of humor, patient, takes time to listen, responsive, bright, sunshine smiles and professional.
Jamie comes in with a smile and has a very positive attitude. JCMH should be very proud to have her on staff, as she is an asset to the 4th floor. Jamie is always asking if there is anything she can do for you. She is very professional at her job as a nurse. She cares what happens to all her patients. Being a nurse is very stressful, but Jamie never expresses that while she is your nurse. She always tries to make her patient feel very comfortable and always explains what she is going to do. Jamie goes above and beyond and helps other nurses when needed.
***
Jamie has been on 4N for less than a year. She came to us as a new graduate last August, with very little surgical/orthopedic experience. During this past year, she has excelled in her career and I have enjoyed watching her grow.
Jamie always has a smile on her face. She has a gentle manner about her that puts her patients at ease and reduces their anxiety. Her positivity is contagious and flows throughout the unit. Jamie has been faced with some difficult situations in her first year of nursing. However, she has remained positive throughout these situations and learned from them.
She is careful and conscientious in her work and attentive to her clinical skills. She constantly strives to provide safe patient care and does not hesitate to ask questions when unsure of treatments, medications or procedures.
Jamie seems to create an environment of care and calmness when she is working. This is what her coworkers have to say about her: "I love it when Jamie is here, nothing seems to faze her and she just does what needs to be done, without argument or negativity." "It is always a good day, when Jamie is here." "I love working with Jamie!"
Congratulations, Jamie, on receiving the DAISY Award. You certainly exhibit all the qualities of a DAISY Honoree. You provide compassionate care to all your patients and you are a strong patient advocate. Jamie, you are becoming a strong leader on the unit and your leadership inspires your coworkers. I am very proud of you and appreciate the exemplary care that you provide to our patients.
