My 93-year-old mother cracked her ribs and bruised her right lung in a fall, Jacky manifested the definitive characteristic of sensitivity while caring for her. From the narratives she shared with her regarding my mom's character, including her 'quirks' and 'feistiness', Jacky was keen to draw out what procedures, other than the routine, would make my mom happy and comfortable like she were home. Patiently, after each of my mom's diaper changes, whether due to her nappies being full of pee or soiled by feces, she washed her with soap and water because that is a habit of my mom. Jacky proved me wrong when I thought a patient's narrative would just enter one ear and go out the other.
