I have been a patient at BWMC too many times to count since 1995. In 2016 alone, I was probably seen in the emergency room eight times. Over the years, I have encountered many nurses and had many different experiences. Today I am writing to you regarding an unprecedented situation that I recently experienced in the emergency department.
Your employee, ER Nurse, Mr. Ian Williams deserves recognition for his remarkable abilities, not just as an ER Nurse, but for being an all-around good and extraordinary person. Nurse Williams literally saved my life. In doing so, he saved the lives of all those who love and care about me, especially my special needs daughter who I cannot imagine how she would go on living without me.
I was taken by ambulance to BWMC with signs of having a second heart attack in 32 days. I was moved into an ER room and greeted by ER Nurse Williams who could tell I was upset with pain. He apologetically held my hand and calmed me down with his gentleness and promise to take good care of me. As my blood was being drawn, he gently explained everything that was happening to me and exactly what was going to happen next.
