The DAISY Nurse Leader Award was given to HRH Princess Muna al-Hussein, the mother of His Majesty King Abdullah the Second of Jordan, by DAISY Partner, Lahey Health. Her support for nurses in Jordan and around the world is profound. When you read her numerous contributions to healthcare and excellence in nursing below, please keep in mind that her consistent focus is this: It's all about the patient.
HRH is a world-renowned figure in the nursing and health community. HRH established the Princess Muna Fund, a fund that sponsors nursing education and encourages women, especially in underserved areas of Jordan, to enroll in nursing programs at the leading public universities. HRH is the founder and president of the Jordanian Nursing Council, which was established in 2002.
