Holly’s story is representative of all we could want when talking about compassionate care and dignity and respect. In addition, she organizes a fundraiser, adoption drive and information center for the Humane Society.

“Many view this patient as unkempt, demanding and non-compliant. He has frequent hospital admissions and always arrives quite ill. He seems in need of a hot cooked meal, a shower, and clean clothes. Because of his medical problem, he does not feel the cold damp socks on his feet. I have seen the look of disgust and have heard the comments people have made. He always asks Holly to start his IV. She treats him with kindness and respect. It saddens her that not everyone else does. Quietly she will leave new clean clothes for him before he is discharged home. She doesn’t know that I know she does this. She wouldn’t want anyone to know. That’s what makes her what she is.”
