One day in the large recreation room, Heather anticipated a potentially very dangerous situation and acted quickly. She single handedly protected a patient from being attacked by another patient by professionally talking the situation down. Her actions and quick thinking protected the patient.
Heather has been given the nickname "Mother Teresa of Nursing". She was given this nickname by the patients for her dedication to her job, her compassion for others, and her mothering nature. First and foremost, she is extraordinarily dedicated to her work. Heather also has great compassion for others because she never wants her patients to get upset. She always offers to talk to her patients and try to make things better. Heather is always trying to find new and improved methods of care for her patients. Her mothering nature makes a significant difference on the unit. Heather deserves to be recognized with the DAISY Award because of her dedication to her profession.
