Heather has been on my dad's service for two days and had the unfortunate task of being the one to help turn off my dad's breathing tube after his battle with cancer and seizures. Heather has taken so much time to ensure my dad is well-cared for and also took time to answer every question and concern we have had. She came into the room to help interpret the doctor's diagnosis/prognosis to make sure we were absolutely clear on what was happening. She was patient, kind, so knowledgeable. She really took the time to care for my dad and make sure his final moments were as comfortable as possible. She really cares about people. She is an awesome nurse!

B arrived in the Emergency Room at 8:05 am. Within three hours he was diagnosed as needing admittance to the ICU. Heather came to the ER to assist in moving B to the ICU. She was gentle in her conversations with both of us explaining what was being needed and what she was doing. She was efficient and helped us feel confident that everything was part of the normal process. She took charge of care noting to us what she was doing in all of the medicines and what the doctor was ordering. Even though this was a frightening time for us, Heather showed us her professional competencies along with her compassionate care.

During my father's stay in ICU, Heather was a great comfort to all of us, including not only her patient but the entire family. Beyond being wonderfully patient, she was caring and considerate in all aspects. At one point when Dad came out of sedation but was still intubated, he requested paper to write a message. First, to tell us he was warm, which Heather remedied, then a message for Mom, "I love you". We all, including Heather, got a bit teary. We are truly grateful for her kindness and patience with us all! And appreciate her compassion beyond words.

My husband was in the ICU here for 8 days after a major heart attack. Heather took care of him for several days while on a ventilator. She was very caring and attentive. Heather always made sure I knew what was going on and made sure my husband was taken care of. All the nurses were great, but she made us feel at ease about everything. I never felt like he wasn't being taken care of when I would leave. He was in the best of hands. Thank you for all your hard work and prayers during this difficult time.
