All too often, we remain unaware of all the things that nurses do on a day to day basis to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. They truly are remarkable. In one such instance, Heather went above and beyond for the family of a patient who passed away, after spending an extended period of time with us. While it may seem small, she took the time to carefully wash and braid the patient's hair at their request to make them feel more comfortable and presentable in spite of the hectic pace of the ICU. When the patient passed she cut the braid and saved it for them as they wanted to feel like a piece of her remained on earth with them. Heather is a joy to work with and an inspiration.
