My daughter tried to overdose on her atalopram medication. She was rushed to the hospital after suffering a major seizure on the kitchen floor. She was admitted to the Emergency Department and was receiving care. Around 11:30 pm she suffered another seizure. She received an MRI and was then transferred to ICU. Harmony was the nurse on duty during the day. She was amazing! She made the difficult situation better with her calm, caring, thorough way of taking care of my daughter.
My eldest daughter, 19, stayed bedside Wednesday and all-day Thursday. She also recommended I nominate Harmony because she was very impressed with the care her younger sister was receiving. Harmony, I feel, provided the absolute best care for my youngest and also her older sister who wanted to stay nearby. I felt at ease knowing my daughter was in Harmony's care. Our experience with NNRH was a good one in all aspects. Everyone was helpful. Thank you for having such nurses as this nurse in the ICU. Patients need a nurse like her.

Harmony is a co-worker and a friend of mine and became so much more. My son was brought into the ER by his sister while I was at work Thursday night. He was diagnosed with appendicitis and scheduled for surgery the next day. After his admission early Friday morning the night was uneventful. However, being 14 and also having his mom fret over him all night, my son became a patient I know is hard to take care of. Moody, in a lot of pain, frustrated, confused and I am sure this was very overwhelming for him. Now add his RN mother to this mix...
Harmony stepped up, managed his bad IV and his frustration with ease. Which in turn managed me as well; as a nurse, patient care is all-inclusive. Harmony had to care for a child and also his mom who I know for a fact made her already hard job more challenging. Harmony was amazing and handled all of this with ease and professionalism. She definitely sets a standard we as nurses should strive to achieve.
