I would like to nominate Greg as a deserving recipient of The DAISY Award. In multiple instances, he has demonstrated great patience, caring, and persistence in his work with patients. Greg is able to connect with even the most difficult patients in a way that other staff often cannot. In one instance, he was working with a difficult and disruptive patient. Greg was able to connect with this patient and help him avoid further disturbances. He continued his work with this patient and spent multiple hours, including his own personal time, to try to track down the patient's family. Greg used his own personal funds to help this patient by getting him food and other things he needed. He assisted the patient in retrieving his belongings and identification and was eventually able to find a former employer that was willing to come get the patient and return him home safely. The patient felt such a connection to him that he later called back to the hospital and requested that he stand up for him at his wedding. This is just one patient of many that he has been able to positively influence through his caring demeanor, extraordinary patience, and personable countenance.
