Gilbert Young is a leader that goes above and beyond. He works tirelessly at all hours of the day to make sure that the unit is well taken care of. He makes sure his leadership group always feels supported by checking in and making sure we are all doing good. He encourages the staff to be the best they can be and lets them know the tools that are offered for them to elevate their careers such as getting extra certifications or getting involved in councils. He has changed the safety culture in the unit by making sure that the staff speaks up if they feel unsafe about certain situations, such as if someone asks them for help to manually pull a patient.
