My mother collapsed at the airport and went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics revived her and brought her to your hospital. When we arrived that evening with my mother intubated and unresponsive, Gabby was there to greet us, take time to explain what was going on and make sure not only my mother, but the whole family was comfortable. Gabby went above and beyond to make sure my mother was well cared for, comfortable, her dignity was maintained and had the best medical care possible. We all had an ease about us when we knew my mom was being cared for by Gabby.
A couple weeks later my mother passed away with us by her side. Gabby was instrumental in making sure my mom's passing was peaceful. She not only gave my mother the support she needed, but was comforting to our family as well. I am so glad it was Gabby with us on that last night.
I have been a nurse for 15 years, I know first-hand that skilled, caring and selfless nurses like Gabby are special. I now strive to be as good a nurse as she is.
