On February 12th I was on the 6A floor. I was hooked to a bladder bag and unsteady on my feet. I had very loose stools around 6:30am. I called for help to the restroom. A nurse I hadn't seen before came to help me (very friendly). I mentioned that today was my 50th wedding anniversary and what a situation to be in. She congratulated me. She then remarked that when her parents passed away. They had been married over 70 years. I remarked to her that my husband had a transplant 14 years ago and to even reach 50 was a total miracle in itself. She left.

About 1:30pm a gentleman came into the room with two big platters of food (his name was Zane). He was from patient food services. He asked if we had ordered this. My husband and I said no - he must have the wrong room. He asked if my name was __ and I said yes. He asked wasn't this our 50th wedding anniversary; and that this was for us! I finally got a name out of him that he thought her name was nurse Erly. She had gone down and arranged this for us. We thanked him.

I asked my nursing assistant to see if she could find this nurse! My husband and I sat in front of the window and had our 50th anniversary dinner. The door closed and we had a wonderful experience together. Nurse Erly went out of her way to go down and arrange this for us, it was a blessing! God put her in our path that morning. Yes we were happy I was alive. She turned a situation into a wonderful blessing. Thank you nurse Erly. We'll never forget! God bless you!
