Erin was the primary RN for several nights for a patient with a very difficult son. He was intimidating and could be verbally abusive. Erin continued to care for her patient and her son with compassion, always keeping the patient's comfort at the forefront. She did not back down when the son became confrontational and scary but did so in a way that he came to respect. Erin was their nurse the night she died. Her care for the son after she died, when he needed it the most, was beyond compare. It was humbling. I am proud to be on the same team as Erin.

Erin became very involved with our family and spent at least an hour looking at pictures with my cousin, and when I spent the night as well, she understood the dynamics of the situation and responded calmly during a very distressing time for the patient and her husband. She was very thorough with her assessment and proactively sought us out to report her findings and answer any questions. She provided reports on what our cousin had refused but tried again anyway before her shift ended. She is an astute critical thinker and was quick to act during a repositioning when an unexpected event occurred. She was so kind when she spoke to the patient and explained everything she was doing prior to initiating interventions. Your facility is extremely blessed to have her on your staff.
