There was a critically ill patient and withdrawal of support was being discussed amongst family members. When Erika discovered the patient's wife was also an inpatient in the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest, she facilitated the wife coming to the ICU so she could be with her husband. Although Erika had a full ICU team, she made it a priority to also care for the patient's wife. She made sure the wife's meals were ordered and even performed vitals so she could spend the day with her husband. When there was a long delay in the wife receiving her food tray, Erika even went downstairs to the cafeteria.
