I believe Erik is one of the most generous, kind, and genuine people I have met at RUMC. I have only had a handful of personal interactions with him, and several emails back and forth, but his demeanor is always professional and consistent. I appreciate his organizational skills, and intelligence.

I almost cried the time I saw him present the DAISY Award to one of the nurses, you could just tell how much it meant to him. He said it was the favorite thing he did as president of the PNS. One of the times we were setting up the DAISY Award presentation, I told him I could not make it. He emailed me and said he would miss having me there. How sweet is that?

My Unit Director was nominated for a Nursing Excellence Award, and I had helped to write the nomination. It was very important to me to be present for the dinner. RUMC had a limited number of seats available. When I asked if there would be enough seating available for me to attend the Nursing Spectrum Excellence Awards Dinner, Erik offered me his seat. I can't tell you how touched I was by this act of kindness.

Erik is a credit to the nursing profession, and I am so proud to have worked with him in any capacity.

...

Erik McIntosh is so deserving of the DAISY Award. He was one of the most outstanding PNS Executive Presidents. What made him so outstanding was his vast knowledge of how to support Rush's Nurses and make PNS work to the highest degree. His sense of humor and enormous degree of kindness towards everyone made him exceptional. Thank you, Erik for your passion and desire.

To describe Erik is to say: Professionalism at its highest level.
