Once in a lifetime, we all meet a special person that you stop and thank the lord for putting that person in your life. I met Emily Lucero. She is compassionate, caring and her professionalism is beyond compare. She never took any of my husband's symptoms for granted. She always informed the doctor of any new changes even if they were minimal. She always kept me informed of his condition.
Nursing is a difficult and sometimes thankless profession. I feel great nurses like Emily deserve appreciation. She gave my husband comfort, care beyond words, and gave him strength at a time where he was so sick. Before his therapy sessions, she would encourage him to give it his best! After watching her for several days, I realized this was not just a job for her. It was her passion.
After a long shift, I could tell Emily was tired, but as soon as she stepped into my husband's room, she was full of energy, speaking to my husband with her angelical voice with such love. Her attention to detail is amazing. She also answered all my questions in a way I could understand. She gave me brochures to read on strokes. I cannot thank her enough for all she did for my husband. I will always appreciate her kind ways. I thank the lord for putting her where she can help his people. My husband and I officially named her Homie's Angel! Because we feel that truly that is what she is. An Angel on Earth! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. We will always remember you with gratitude.
