I just HAD to write to say a huge thank you to Elvin Tolentino for the excellent and attentive care he provided during my overnight stay at Eden. Though all the nurses there were helpful, Elvin went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I know that the staff has a lot of things to take care of, and often nurses seem very rushed. Not Elvin.

When I first realized I had to stay the night, I didn't want my husband to leave me. I am the type that doesn't want to be a pest or ask for things, and I didn't feel comfortable asking for meds, food, etc. without feeling like I was inconveniencing someone. That was until Elvin arrived.

Elvin, even though I only saw you a few times, you never made me feel like you were in a rush to get out of my room. You were SO great about anticipating what I might need so that I didn't have to ask. You asked if I needed more water or soda, if I needed another blanket, a toothbrush, etc. When I asked about meds, you were sympathetic and didn't make me feel like I was complaining or asking too much. You gave me the choice for you to wake me up for meds or just call if I needed them. Do you know how rare that is? It helped me feel like I had a voice, but at the same time you were really looking out for me.

When I needed help getting to the restroom, you said, "Give me about 5 minutes" yet you were there in about 2! Also very comforting and impressive. Something about your gentle, un-hurried manner just made me feel so comfortable that I had no problem sending my husband home to get some sleep, knowing you were there to help me.

I have spent a lot of time in hospitals with my mom and know how hectic it can be for the staff. You are one of the GREATS, and I hope you know what a huge blessing you are to your patients. I am so grateful and wanted to make sure you - and everyone else! - know what excellent care you provided.
