Liz has been our CF nurse for 6 1/2 years. Our son has seen her a minimum of every 3 months for almost all his life. He has Cystic Fibrosis and Autism. This combo can make him a bit challenging in a small room for long periods of time with multiple tests and interventions. Liz has developed a strong bond with my son. He allows her to do just about any test or procedure he needs. She understands how to communicate with him and she explains everything to him beforehand. She is always patient- usually more patient than Mom! When we go to the other specialty clinic appointments, he will ask for Liz and even seek her out if given the chance to venture down her hallway. Liz makes him laugh. He trusts her. Recently at his appointment, he told me 'I love Liz!' Over the past 6 years, I have developed a relationship of trust, confidence and even friendship with Liz. I know she will always get back to me right away about my concerns I have about my son's health. Liz will always provide an exemplary education to myself and our family members regarding medications, tests, and any health concerns. She does not pass judgment. Liz is the type of nurse that anyone would be blessed to have. She is caring, compassionate, committed, educated and most of all FUN! She brings so much energy and positivity to the room that it's very hard to be in a bad mood around her!
