My mom is a patient in the CVICU, and her prognosis is very poor. One night, she was awake all night and was semi-combative with everybody, including me. Things changed with the morning shift change; Elizabeth was my mom's nurse for the day. Right from the start, Elizabeth's positive energy could be felt when she entered my mom's room.
Additionally, Elizabeth stated something in her personal life (causing her to blush a bit) that had an extremely calming effect on my mom. This set a pleasant tone for the rest of the day. My siblings and I take shifts staying with our mom and all of us are impressed with the care, compassion, and attentiveness that Elizabeth showed, not to just our mom, but even to us.
When we had questions, Elizabeth responded quickly, thoroughly, and compassionately with answers that satisfied the most difficult subject. Even though my mom went through a rigorous test that afternoon, because of Elizabeth's care we feel it was our mom's best day while in the hospital, even though there was very bad news that day.
All subsequent nurses have been compared to the outstandingly, superbly, fantastic care that Elizabeth has given. Only one nurse has come close, but none have matched or surpassed the quality of care Elizabeth has generously given our mom. Words cannot convey enough thanks and gratitude my family has for Elizabeth.
