As I write this I hold back tears of appreciation.

My sister and I have had our share of doctors (she was born with spina bifida and has had her bladder removed and has a urostomy) so we have had many stays at the hospital and many hospitals we have seen (so much and many that we playfully call her visits "tune-ups") so it's pretty safe to say we have come in contact with many nurses (both good and bad and the same goes for doctors) so I speak from experience when I say no one, not ONE, has ever been as caring, attentive, passionate about what they do, informative and loving as Ebere. She makes you feel as if you are a part of her family and your loved one is her loved one. She has been the ONLY nurse that I have felt comfortable enough to leave my sister in her care so I can go take care of things outside of the walls of the hospital.

There was a situation one night that came about and in the morning when she came back on shift and became aware of the situation she took immediate action to correct it. You can tell that she was affected by it also and that she really cares for each of her patients. I believe people like her who have found their calling and walk in it are rare, she is the one who is rare and for me Ebere demonstrates exactly what the remarkable patient experience should be, one that is gentle, one that is kind, one that listens, one that helps to heal you (mentally and physically).

Helping a patient to recover is not all about administering drugs, creams, or liquids. It starts with the loving hands of an extraordinary, wonderfully compassionate nurse and ends with the feeling of extreme gratitude that you feel for them in your heart, thanks to Ebere, this was our journey.
