I was admitted to Med/Surg floor for Pyelonephritis and was very scared and worried because they couldn't get a IV in me except for the top of my foot. I was told by others that I'd be getting a PICC Line put in because they don't like to do IVs in feet for very long and I couldn't understand why. EB explained why they don't like to keep IVs there for long periods of time and he explained the procedure of the PICC line placement and he reassured me that it would be OK. He said he'd give me pm anxiety meds early enough that it should calm me down, too. He did not treat me as just another patient. I was an individual and not a bother to him.

I asked him of his RN schooling and he explained how he had to go longer in Africa and take his tests over here and so he was well-prepared. He didn't rush his time with me and he even introduced and shook my husband's hand. If I paged him and had any questions or anything he came promptly and showed enthusiasm. EB's attitude and care was excellent and far above and beyond in the five-day stay there.

I believe EB was so good of an RN that he should continue schooling and become a doctor. EB was also respectful of my husband wanting to stay a little past visiting hours since the room only had me in it at the time.

...

EB went above and beyond his duties as a nurse. He treated me with a warm heart and as if I were a long lost friend! This made my worries of the situation fade away. More people should be like him in this world.
