My father had a few hospital admissions before his death on Mother's day and Easton Galindo made his last day awesome. I stayed at my father's bedside during this stay from Friday, May 9 until his discharge on May 10. On Saturday, May 10th Easton entered my father's room and introduced herself as his nurse. She was all a nurse should be. She was cute, kind, caring, compassionate, and gentle and did her job meticulously. She spent time in the room talking with my father and they connected on a personal level. She personally assisted him with getting cleaned up, she ordered his breakfast,(he had not been eating well for months) and was right at his bedside when the meal was delivered to help set him up.

She was never in a hurry when she was at his bedside. She listened to his stories about "little Italy" and shared things about herself with him. She checked on him frequently and made sure he was comfortable while completing her clinical tasks. She answered questions with ease and was truly a breath of fresh air to myself and my father. When the physician stated that they could continue to monitor my father at the hospital or we could do the same thing at home, my father decided to go home. She was very quick and thorough with his discharge instructions and final cares.

We left the hospital only to return hours later for his final hours and when I think about his final day, I can truly say he had a "great day", thanks to Easton. I will never forget the kindness she showed, the kind of nurse she is, and what she did for my father. She took care of the whole family, not just my father.
