Dustie admitted and transferred a patient from a local facility. The patient had deteriorated and was admitted to the MS unit and then was transferred to Des Moines. The family and workers were at the bedside and they reported that Dustie was an amazing professional nurse. The patient was very weak, but Dustie took the time to explain everything to her in a calming voice, fed her, put her on the commode all while trying to find placement and a bed in Des Moines. No one in the family or the patient knew how hard she was working to help the patient. But the most amazing part is that the patient LOVES mashed potatoes, but there were no mashed potatoes available, she got her a baked potato and took the time to mash it down for the patient to her liking and fed it to her. This little attention to detail was so kind in the craziness and absolutely appreciated. She did not have to do this, she did not have the time to do this, but no person in the room would have known that. Her heart is amazing and it was appreciated how she treated the patient.
